Scratch resistance – level guide
- Level 1 – low: Surface made from softer aluminium without additional surface treatment. Scratches can occur even with light everyday contact (e.g. metal clips, keys, frequent carrying). Best for careful use.
- Level 2 – medium: Standard aluminium surface with moderate resistance to wear. Suitable for everyday use, but fine signs of use may appear over time.
- Level 3 – high: Surface with increased scratch resistance, typically due to anodising or a more robust surface structure. Well suited for regular and active use.
- Level 4 – very high: Aluminium with enhanced surface treatment (e.g. hard anodising). Highly resistant to mechanical impact and keeps a neat appearance longer, even with intensive use.
Note: This rating is comparative and based on practical experience. Even with high scratch resistance, signs of use may develop on aluminium over time.
